CHINESE HAN JADE SWORD CHAPE

 

A fine archaic jade sword chape, the shaped rectangular carving worked with a design of rectangular stylised scrolls in shallow relief.  The stone of mottled olive green and darker tones with areas of calcification.  The top edge with pierced fastening aperture for a leather scabbard base.

 

Han dynasty, 206BC - AD220

CHINESE WHITE JADE PENDANT WITH CARVING OF IMMORTAL PUDAI

 

A white jade pendant carved with the figure of the immortal Pudai lying down with his back to his treasure sack.

 

19th century

CHINESE CELADON JADE CARVED BOULDER

 

A small celadon jade boulder carving.  One side carved with a scene of two immortals standing on a rocky outcrop.

 

18th/19th century

CHINESE CELADON JADE KORO AND COVER WITH HYDRA KNOP

 

A celadon jade koro and cover, the tall domed lid with central curved hydra knop over a pierced ruyi band in shallow relief.  The ring handles with twin large hydra heads.  The sides worked in shallow relief with a floral design over a flared foot.

 

18th century

CHINESE GREEN AND RUSSET JADE CARVING OF A PIG

 

A green and russet jade carving of a pig.  The animal with well defined features standing four-square.  The back with piercing hole for suspension.
