INCISED DRAGON DECORATED WHITE GLAZE 17th CENTURY JAR EX OCS.

A white glazed jar of ovoid form decorated on the exterior with an incised design of a four claw dragon chasing a flaming pearl. The plain base with OCS label for their 1948 Exhibition.
17th century
Height: 8 ¼ ins (21 cms)
OCS stands for The Oriental Ceramics Society, a learned body established in the early part of the 20th century for the study of Oriental ceramics who have held many important exhibitions at Burlington House, Piccadilly. The design of this vase suggests that it belongs to the early Kangxi period.

BLUE AND WHITE LATE MING THREE FRIENDS DISH

A blue and white porcelain dish decorated with a central design of the three friends of winter, pine, prunus and bamboo within a double circle below four flower heads to the well and scrolling leaf and flower designs at the rim. The base with four floral designs.

IMPERIAL MARK AND PERIOD KANGXI DOUCAI DISH

A well potted Imperial doucai dish decorated with a central floral spray including hydrangea and peony and lotus encircled by a variety of other sprays including chrysanthemum, plantain, lingzhi fungus, magnolia and orchids.  The base with six character mark of Kangxi and of the period.

PAIR OF BLUE AND WHITE 17th CENTURY PEAR SHAPED BOTTLE VASES

 

A fine pair of porcelain bottle vases each with narrow flared mouths over tall slender necks and bulbous bodies.  The vases decorated in underglaze blue with floral panels.

 

Late Kangxi period, 17th century

QIANLONG PERIOD MING STYLE 18th CENTURY VASE

A finely decorated blue and white vase.  The flared mouth with twin concentric lines at the rim, the neck decorated with a band of stylised palmette shapes over a ring of repeating floral designs above another pair of concentric lines over a cloud scroll band.  The gently incurving body painted with a wreathing peony design extending to a short lappet ring at the base.  The base plain.
Qianlong period 1736-1795
18th century

CHINESE PALE CELADON MINYAO PORCELAIN DISH

 

A pale celadon minyao (non imperial) porcelain dish, shaped and decorated as an open stylised lotus with a central pod and seed medallion, from which radiate bands of stylised leaf forms terminating in a foliate rim.  The reverse plain.  The base with Ming Chenghua mark but later.

IMPERIAL MARK AND PERIOD DAOGUANG DOUCAI DISH

A fine porcelain dish, the interior decorated with a geometric floral design in doucai enamels.  The reverse with six character archaic mark of the Emperor Daoguang.  1821-1850 in underglaze blue.

IMPERIAL MARK AND PERIOD TONGZHI SEAL BOX

An over-glaze red decorated seal paste box of circular form. The flattened lid and box decorated with a series of seal marks of painting collectors. The base with archaic mark of Tongzhi (1862-1874) in overglaze red.
